WHO AND WHAT IS AGAPE IN AFRICA MINISTRIES (AiA)?
1 VISION:
Our vision is to help the local indigenous churches in every country in Africa to plant Bible-believing, Christ-centred churches in every village, town and city on the continent of Africa.
2 MISSION OBJECTIVES:
AiA was started for the purpose of more effectively helping the suffering Church in Africa. We are committed to encouraging and supporting co-operative, nation-wide church planting in every country in Africa. Working with and alongside other ministries, we seek to improve the quality of Church life and ministry in the countries where the Lord Jesus Christ has opened the doors for us.
To achieve this the leadership crisis must be addressed. Very few of the current pastors or Church leaders, have had any or formal theological training in the Christian doctrine. We believe the following strategy could be of great help for the abovementioned situation.
2.1 In-service training
We go to where these leaders live and work and present training to them through seminars and/or workshops with materials in their context.
2.2 Video and/or audio
These media can help our efforts tremendously, especially where the cost and distances involved makes in-service training difficult. In the Copperbelt province of Zambia we are already making use of video training. We hope to establish more of these schools in Democratic Republic Of Congo (former Zaire), Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Angola and West Africa, as the funds permit.
WALK THRU THE BIBLE; VIDEO MINISTRY:
We have entered into a partnership with WALK THRU THE BIBLE VIDEO MINISTRY (USA). We also now use these video’s to teach the students and Church leaders on various subjects.
2.3 Equipping and training of laity
We assist pastors to equip and develop members of the body of Christ for ministry (Eph 4:11-12). Every church must become a training centre for members. On an ongoing basis we minister in local churches on the subjects of spiritual gifts, home cell groups, church planting, identifying and developing of leaders and the great commission to the church.
3. STRATEGY FOR MINISTRY
God’s strategy of evangelism and discipling the whole world is through the local church (Math 28:19-20). Therefore every local church should have a program of training mature leaders to plant more mature growing churches.
4. CHURCH PLANTING
We believe there should be a Christ-centered, Bible-believing congregation for every people/ethnic group within walking distance, on the continent. We believe the whole Body of Christ should be involved in the great commission in every village or community. This requires a Christ-centered, Bible-believing church for every community and village. We believe that the necessary manpower and resources are in Africa, although undeveloped, and in desperate need of training, mobilizing and materials.
We have started our first Church Planting School in Mufulira (Copperbelt Province, Zambia). We are currently busy translating the material into Chibemba (for Zambia), and French (for Central and West Africa).
Up to date we have trained well over 200 church planters. Some of these brothers have already planted more than 18 churches each.

MISSIONS STATEMENT
Our goal is to provide hope that HIV/AIDS can be stopped and prevented. Hope is provided through education on HIV/AIDS and the promotion of abstinence. This message is spread by means of dramas/skits, sports, informative presentations, question and answer sessions, brochures, and one-on-one counselling. Our wish is to encourage everyone to take ownership over their bodies, their future, and to Stop The Spread of HIV/AIDS.
HISTORY: In May of 2004 we had a group of 5 Americans take a short-term trip to Zambia, Central-Africa, where we visited some of the local orphanages and supplied them with clothes and food. We also brought seeds and prepared gardening information, and patched a roof for a missionary house. It was here that we became aware that approximately one in five Zambians is currently infected with HIV and it has the highest rate of AIDS orphans in the world.
The HIV epidemic is growing at astounding rates with severely limited awareness among the people. In light of this, we felt the burden to begin this project that we are calling "Stop The Spread”.
Up to date we have already established about 25 STS clubs in schools in Mufulira, Murundu, Kitwe, Ndola, Solwezie, Lusaka.
AFFILIATION WITH AGAPE IN AFRICA MINISTRIES
"Stop The Spread” operates through Agape in Africa Ministries
ORPHANAGES
We are also assisting 5 orphanages in and around Mufulira. Currently we are in the process of buying a piece of land (25acres) in Mufulira, where we are planning to build our own orphanage as well as a training centre, which will provide training for STS counsellors, computer literacy, etc.
